Thrombosis, Antithrombotics, and Thrombolytics
This is a comprehensive course on thrombosis, anticoagulants, and thrombolytics. The first third of the course covers the basic physiology, biochemistry, and pathophysiology of thrombosis. The remaining course then covers detailed pharmacology and medicinal chemistry of most drugs currently in market that are classified as antithrombotics or thrombolytics. Detailed mechanisms of action, ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Elimination), and major toxicity issues are described. The format of lectures is annotated videos that are accompanied by interactive quizzes. Animations are employed whenever needed to describe physiological and biochemical processes that may be difficult to understand.
