Antibiotics: Pharmacology & Medicinal Chemistry

Antibiotics: Pharmacology & Medicinal Chemistry

This is a comprehensive course that covers pharmacology as well as medicinal chemistry of all antibacterial drugs currently in use. The course begins with basic bacterial properties and principles of antimicrobial therapy. Different antibiotics are then grouped into categories based on their shared mechanisms of actions. Chemical structures, physiochemical properties, and structure activity relationships are described wherever applicable. Up to date information regarding the spectrum of activity, in terms of the clinically relevant bacteria covered by the drug, is provided. Drug ADME properties are described and correlated with the physiochemical properties of the drug. Presentations are INTERACTIVE, and each video is followed up with interactive quiz slides.

  • 48 videos totaling almost 10 hrs
  • Embedded interactive questions & exercises
  • Supplemental notes
  • Plenty of quizzes
